Harriet’s journey with Type 1 Diabetes began when she was just five years old. Harriet grew up surrounded by support and understanding, especially after her older brother was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of twelve. Her summers at Camp Sweeney in Gainesville, Texas were especially transformative. There, she learned more about managing her diabetes while forming lifelong friendships with others who understood her experiences.
